Terms of Use
The fine print, with the humor left in.
1. Acceptance of terms
By using Inches to Fishes ("the Service") you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, the exit is the back button — no hard feelings.
2. The service
The Service shows photographs of fish as approximate visual references for length. The fish are not certified measuring instruments. The Service is provided as-is and as-available, with no warranty of any kind — express, implied, or fishy — including no warranty that:
- the fish shown is exactly the length you asked for;
- the fish is the species you expected;
- the person holding the fish is enjoying themselves.
3. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service or from decisions made by eyeballing a fish. This includes, without limitation: lost bets, furniture that doesn't fit, dinners that don't feed everyone, and disappointed spouses.
All fish lengths are estimates. All fish stories are exaggerated.
4. Acceptable use
Don't abuse the Service. That means no attacks, no attempts to break or overload it, and no aggressive scraping. If you want the images, they're public-domain and Creative Commons-licensed — go get them from the source credited under each photo.
5. Images and intellectual property
Fish photographs are public-domain or Creative Commons-licensed, with the credit and source shown alongside each image. If you believe a credit is wrong or an image shouldn't be here, email contact@inches-to-fishes.com and we'll fix it promptly. The Service's own code and copy are © the operator.
6. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; the date below tells you when we last did. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
